How many vacancies in TNPSC Group 4 2026?
Notification No. 11/2026 (Advt No. 747, dated 6 October 2026) announces 6,574 vacancies in the TNPSC Group 4 recruitment, spread over 46 post codes. The number is tentative: the notification says it is liable to modification before counselling.

These eleven posts add up to 4,570 vacancies. The other post codes in the notification make up the remaining 2,004. The notification also lists corporation and board posts, whose pay is on their own scale; the Power Distribution Corporation post above is Level 3 on a board scale of Rs.19,500 to Rs.62,000.
Things to know about the numbers
- Backlog vacancies are included in the Typist and Steno-Typist figures.
- Reservation applies within each post under the community rules in Annexure II. Read the community reservation answer.
- Vacancies can change before counselling, so treat any post count as a guide and not a promise.
- Executive Officer Grade IV (the old Group 8 post) and the Forest Guard and Forest Watcher posts are part of this notification. Forest posts also have a physical and endurance test.
