OMR challenge in NEET
On this page
An OMR challenge is an objection raised when the response NTA recorded from your OMR sheet does not match what you marked. NEET-UG 2026 was a pen-and-paper exam with answers on an OMR sheet, and NTA shows each candidate their recorded responses through their login. If something looks wrong, you raise it in the window NTA announces.
OMR challenge versus answer key challenge
| OMR challenge | Answer key challenge | |
|---|---|---|
| What it disputes | How your sheet was read | The correct answer NTA gave for a question |
| Who it affects | You alone | Every candidate who attempted the question |
| What you check | Recorded responses against your marking | The provisional key against a standard text |
Both come before the result. The provisional answer key page covers the second.
How the display works
After the exam, NTA lets candidates log in to see their recorded responses. For the 21 June 2026 re-examination, the display and challenge were reported at around 13 to 15 July, but that date is unconfirmed, and the official notice carries the real dates. When you log in, check for:
- Questions you marked that show as unattempted.
- A different option from the one you marked.
- More than one bubble recorded against a question.
Look first at the questions you were unsure about, since those are the ones you remember marking.
Fake sheets are a real risk
On 20 July 2026 NTA posted advisories about fake, altered or AI-generated NEET 2026 documents and about fake OMR sheets circulating on social media. Open your recorded responses only from the official NTA login, never from a link someone sends you, and never pay anyone who promises to fix or change an OMR sheet. Your recorded responses feed your marks and, through them, your All India Rank, so an error you do not raise stays in your result.
Before the next exam
Fill each bubble fully, avoid stray marks, and follow the OMR instructions in the information bulletin. The time management guide covers an OMR routine, and the exam pattern guide covers the paper.
