TNPSC Group 4 hall ticket 2026: release, download and exam-day rules
On this page
TNPSC has not announced the hall ticket release date for the Group 4 2026 exam (Notification No. 11/2026). As of 9 October 2026, applications are still open until 5 November 2026, and the exam itself is on 10 January 2027, from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM. This page tells you how the download works, what to check once it appears, and the OMR rules from the notification that you should know before you enter the hall.

We do not give a predicted release date. TNPSC announces it, and the dates in its own notice are the only ones that count. Plan as if it could appear at any time in the weeks before 10 January 2027, and check the official site regularly rather than waiting for a reminder.
How to download the hall ticket
TNPSC issues hall tickets online, and you need the account you applied with. These are the steps to follow when the release is announced:
- Watch the TNPSC home page (www.tnpsc.gov.in) for the notice about the Group 4 hall ticket. That notice names the link to use, and it is a safer guide than any third-party website.
- Go to the application portal, www.tnpscexams.in, and log in with the OTR user ID and password you used to apply. If you have forgotten the password, recover it through the portal's own option before the week of the exam.
- Open the section for your application to the Group 4 notification 11/2026 and download the hall ticket as a PDF. The exact menu wording may differ from this description.
- Print it clearly on A4 paper, and save a copy on your phone as a backup.
If the link does not work, try again after some time and from another browser before assuming something is wrong. If your hall ticket is missing, or your application is not shown, contact TNPSC's helpdesk: toll-free 1800 419 0958 (10.00 AM to 5.45 PM on working days), helpdesk@tnpscexams.in for OTR queries, or grievance.tnpsc@tn.gov.in. Do this several days before the exam, not the evening before.
What to check on your hall ticket
Go through every detail as soon as you download it:
- Name, date of birth and register number match your certificates. Your register number is also what you will write on the OMR sheet and what the result lists are indexed by.
- Photograph and signature are yours and clearly visible. Remember that the photo had to be a studio photo taken on or after 6 October 2026.
- Exam date and session: 10 January 2027, 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM.
- Exam centre name and address. You chose two centre preferences while applying; the hall ticket shows the centre actually allotted. Find out how to reach it, and how long the journey takes.
- Reporting time and instructions. The hall ticket and notification list what to carry. Follow them exactly, including the ID proof it asks for.
Changes to your application are possible only in the correction window, 9 November 2026 (12.01 AM) to 11 November 2026 (11.59 PM). Anything beyond what that window allows, such as a wrong name printed on the hall ticket, should be reported to the helpdesk straight away.
Exam-day rules from the notification
The Group 4 notification sets out OMR rules that directly change your marks. These come from its annexure on the answer sheet:
- Each question has five bubbles: options A to D and option [E], "answer not known".
- No bubble should be left blank. For each question left completely blank, 0.5 mark is deducted from the total. Shade [E] if you do not know the answer. Wrong answers carry no deduction.
- You must record the number of unshaded questions on the sheet.
- 0.5 mark is deducted if your left-hand thumb impression is missing.
- On a non-personalised OMR sheet, writing the register number wrongly costs 2 marks.
The full effect of these rules on your score is on the TNPSC marking scheme page, and the Group 4 answer key page works through the arithmetic. The paper is 200 questions in 3 hours, so you have 54 seconds per question on average. The Group 4 exam pattern shows the three parts and how to split your time.
Forest Guard and Forest Watcher candidates
If you applied for Forest Guard with Driving Licence or Forest Watcher, the written exam is not the end. These posts add a physical standards test and an endurance test, held at Chennai only, where men walk 25 km and women and third-gender candidates walk 16 km in 4 hours. They are separate stages from the written paper, so watch the notification and later TNPSC notices for when they are held.
The last week before the exam
- Visit the centre or check the route a day earlier if it is in an unfamiliar town.
- Pack the printed hall ticket, the ID proof it asks for, and the pens it allows, in one folder. Use the pen type the instructions require for the OMR sheet.
- Take at least one full 200-question paper in 3 hours under exam conditions, including filling in an OMR-style sheet.
- Protect your sleep. Careless shading is the avoidable way to lose marks, and it gets worse when you are tired.
How PrepMatic helps before exam day
A full mock at the real length is the best rehearsal for the hall. PrepMatic's full-length Group 4 mocks use the actual format of 200 questions in 180 minutes, and you can take them with Tamil as the exam language so that Part A feels familiar. After each mock, the result shows your score, subject-wise breakdown and the subject that cost you the most marks, and the free assessment points you to your weakest subjects. Reminders can be sent by browser notification or email. Start with the Group 4 study plan if you have not built one yet.
Frequently asked questions
When will the TNPSC Group 4 hall ticket 2026 be released?
TNPSC has not announced it. The exam is on 10 January 2027, and the hall ticket will be issued online. Check www.tnpsc.gov.in for the notice.
Where do I download the Group 4 hall ticket?
You apply through www.tnpscexams.in with your OTR user ID, so that is where your own application and hall ticket are tied to. TNPSC's release notice gives the exact link; follow that rather than links forwarded on social media.
Can I appear without the hall ticket?
Plan on the basis that you cannot. The hall ticket is your admission document for the exam, and TNPSC's instructions decide what else is accepted. Download it early so that any problem can be fixed through the helpdesk.
What if there is a mistake in my hall ticket?
Report it to the helpdesk straight away with your register number. Errors in your own application can only be corrected during the correction window, 9 to 11 November 2026.
Is a thumb impression needed on the day?
Yes. The notification requires your left-hand thumb impression on the OMR sheet, and 0.5 mark is deducted if it is missing. Follow the invigilator's instructions in the hall as well.
Is the hall ticket the same for all posts?
You sit one common written paper whichever posts you want. Physical tests for Forest Guard and Forest Watcher are separate stages, covered in the notification.
