Yes. The 2026 SBI PO advertisement lets final-year and final-semester graduation students apply provisionally. If you are called for the interview stage, you must show proof of passing your graduation on or before 30 September 2026.

What "provisionally" means

You are allowed to register and write the Prelims and Mains while your final results are pending. Your selection is conditional on producing the degree or mark-sheet proof by the date in the advertisement. If you cannot show proof by then, you lose your candidature, however well you did in the exams.

For the 2026 cycle the cut-off date was 30 September 2026. The advertisement's schedule ran Prelims in August, Mains in September and Phase III (psychometric test, group exercise and interview) in October and November 2026, so the date was set to fall before the final stage.

Which degrees count

The qualification is graduation in any discipline. Professional degrees such as medicine, engineering, Chartered Accountancy and Cost Accountancy are also accepted. There is no discipline restriction.

Age and attempts still apply

Applying early does not change the other rules. The 2026 age limit was 21 to 30 years on 1 April 2026, and there is an attempt limit counted by Mains appearances. Both are explained in SBI PO age limit and SBI PO attempt limits.

How IBPS PO differs

IBPS does not offer this option. For IBPS PO you must already be a graduate on the day you register, with the final result declared by the last registration date. If your degree result is not out, SBI PO is the officer-level exam you can apply for; see final-year students and IBPS PO for the contrast.

SBI's clerical recruitment, the Junior Associate post, also accepts final-year students provisionally, with a later proof-of-passing date of 31 December 2026 in its 2026 advertisement.
