Not as a separate section. In the IBPS PO/MT-XVI notification of 2026, the Mains sections are Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis & Interpretation. "Computer Aptitude" is not part of any section title.

The 2026 Mains sections

SectionQuestionsMarksTime
Reasoning406045 min
General/Economy/Banking Awareness, with Digital/Financial Awareness and RBI circulars506035 min
English Language402035 min
Data Analysis & Interpretation406045 min

Older articles describe the section as "Reasoning & Computer Aptitude", with 45 questions. That is out of date for this cycle. The notification names only Reasoning.

Where "digital" still appears

The awareness section includes "Digital/Financial Awareness". IBPS gives only the heading. Aspirants usually read it as digital banking topics such as digital payments, not a computer-fundamentals syllabus. IBPS names the section headings, not a topic list, so treat topic lists as commonly tested coverage and not an official syllabus.

Where computer questions are still scored

ExamWhere it appears
SBI PO Mains"Reasoning & Computer Aptitude", 40 questions, 60 marks, 50 minutes
SBI Junior Associate Mains"Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude", 50 questions, 60 marks
IBPS RRB Mains (Scale I, Office Assistant)Computer Knowledge, 40 questions, 20 marks
RBI Assistant MainsComputer Knowledge, 40 questions, 40 marks
NABARD Grade A PrelimsComputer Knowledge, 20 questions

IBPS Clerk (CSA) Mains also has no named computer section in 2026.

What this means for your study time

If IBPS PO is your only target, there is no scored computer section to prepare separately; basic terms and digital banking within the awareness section are what the notification points to. If you also plan to write SBI PO or an RRB exam, keep a short computer-awareness routine going. The computer awareness guide lists the topics and a quick revision method, and the IBPS PO syllabus and exam pattern shows how to divide your time across the four Mains sections. The SBI side is in the SBI PO syllabus and exam pattern.
