The age limit for IBPS Clerk, now recruited as Customer Service Associate (CSA), is 20 to 28 years as on 1 August 2026. You must have been born between 2 August 1998 and 1 August 2006, both dates included, with relaxation on the upper limit for reserved categories.

Age relaxation in CRP CSA-XVI

SC/ST5 years33
Persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD)10 years38
Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemenService rendered plus 3 years (8 years for disabled ex-servicemen who are SC/ST), up to a maximum age of 50Varies

The "upper age" figures for the first four rows are simple additions to 28 for a single relaxation. If more than one relaxation could apply to you, use the notification's table instead of adding them yourself.

How the cut-off date works

Age is counted on one fixed date, 1 August 2026 for this cycle, not on the date of the exam. A candidate who turns 29 after that date is still within the limit. The date moves every cycle, so a birth date that qualified last year may not qualify now.

What else you need

Graduation in any discipline, held on the day of registration, and basic computer literacy are also required. If you are a final-year student, read final-year students and IBPS PO, which explains the same IBPS rule. For a full eligibility checklist, see the bank exam eligibility guide.
