The scale is the same as the IBPS clerk scale; see the IBPS Clerk salary page, where the steps are laid out. The ₹46,000 figure is SBI's estimate for a metro centre in this advertisement. Your own gross and take-home pay will depend on your centre and on the allowance rates then in force, and tax and other deductions come off. The salary hub explains how to read the scale.

Postings and growth

You apply for one State or Union Territory only and can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project. The advertisement says there is no inter-circle or inter-state transfer before 5 years of service, so your first circle is your base for the early years. Promotion follows SBI's policy for the clerical cadre, including routes towards officer posts, and pay rises with annual increments.

How to get the post

  • Prelims: 100 questions for 100 marks in 1 hour (English 30, Numerical Ability 35, Reasoning 35), with no minimum qualifying marks for individual tests or the aggregate; roughly ten times the vacancies are shortlisted.
  • Mains: 190 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours 40 minutes (General and Financial Awareness 50, General English 40, Quantitative Aptitude 50, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude 50 questions for 60 marks). Wrong answers cost one-quarter of the marks.
  • LLPT: needed only if you did not study the opted local language in Class 10 or 12. It is held after provisional selection and before joining, and failing it means no appointment.
  • No interview: final merit is on Mains marks.

Eligibility: age 20 to 28 as on 1 April 2026, and graduation by 31 December 2026, with final-year students allowed to apply provisionally. Note that SBI's Mains still has a Computer Aptitude component, unlike IBPS CSA-XVI. See the SBI Clerk syllabus and exam pattern and the PO vs Clerk comparison.
