No. IBPS Clerk, recruited as Customer Service Associate (CSA), has no interview. You are selected on your Mains marks alone, followed by a local language test if you need one.

The stages in CRP CSA-XVI

  1. Preliminary exam: 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes, with separate timing and a sectional cut-off for English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning.
  2. Main exam: 160 questions, 200 marks, 125 minutes, with General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test: only where required, after the Mains.
  4. Provisional allotment.

Final merit is based on Mains marks only. Prelims is a qualifier, and the marks do not carry forward.

What this means for your preparation

With no interview and no Prelims carry-forward, your Mains score decides everything. After you clear the Prelims cut-offs, every mark in the Mains counts, which is why it pays to practise the section-wise timing: General/Financial Awareness takes 20 minutes, the other three sections 35 minutes each. The IBPS Clerk preparation strategy is built around this.

If you want an interview-based career track, see the officer route in bank PO vs clerk. The panel stage for POs is covered in the bank PO interview preparation guide.
