What the skills requirement means
The post asks for both typewriting and shorthand certificates, on top of SSLC. The notification lists the combinations it accepts, so a candidate must hold the certificates before applying and match them against the post's table. The Typist post asks for typewriting alone.
For Steno posts in the Waqf Board, the notification restricts the post to Muslim candidates, as it does for Typist posts in that Board.
Pay level in context
At Level 10, Steno-Typist Grade III sits above the Level 8 posts such as VAO, Junior Assistant and Typist, yet it is selected through the same single Group 4 paper. That makes it a post to compare carefully at counselling. Which posts you are offered depends on your rank, your community turn and the vacancies at counselling. See pay matrix and counselling.
Selection
The selection stages are the Group 4 written paper (200 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours, no interview), then on-screen certificate verification at 1:3 and 1:2, and counselling. The shorthand and typewriting certificates are part of what is verified. See shortlist ratio.
An example
A candidate with SSLC, Higher Grade typewriting and Lower Grade shorthand needs to read the post's table in the notification to find whether that combination is accepted. If the combination is listed, the candidate is eligible, and the rank in the Group 4 paper then decides counselling.
For the written exam, see the Group 4 exam pattern.
