What the Group 4 route means
You take the same Group 4 paper as for VAO and Junior Assistant: Part A Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test, Part B General Studies and Part C Aptitude, all at SSLC standard, with no interview. Your rank decides whether you are called to counselling for post 1655. The same code appeared in the Group 4 2024 counselling list, which shows the post has been recruited through Group 4 in successive cycles.
EO Grade III and the other grades
Executive Officer Grade III is not in Group 4. In the 2025 notification it sits in Group 2A (post code 1654, Level 10, ages 25 to 37). Details for Grade I are not verified, so this page does not describe that grade. The Executive Officer exams guide explains how the grades relate.
An example
A 33-year-old Hindu candidate in the Others category with an SSLC pass meets the age range of 25 to 35 for EO Grade IV. If the candidate also has 5 or more years in a religious institution, the notification gives a preference. A 24-year-old with the same qualification is under the minimum age of 25.
Points to check
- The Hindu-only condition applies to HR&CE posts.
- The minimum age of 25 is higher than for most Group 4 posts.
- The higher-qualification age relaxation is a separate rule, covered in higher-qualification age relaxation. Read the notification's table for EO Grade IV to see whether it applies.
