Bank exam admit cards, called call letters by most recruiters, are released by the body that runs the exam: IBPS on ibps.in, SBI on its careers pages at sbi.bank.in, and RBI on its Opportunities website (opportunities.rbi.org.in). You get a separate call letter for each stage you qualify for, such as prelims, mains and interview, and you cannot appear without it. None of the three bodies announces the release date years ahead, so this guide explains how the process works and what the 2026 cycle's schedules say, and leaves exact release dates to the official notice.

Where each recruiter publishes call letters

RecruiterWhere to lookWhat else is published with it
IBPS (PO, Clerk/CSA, SO, RRB)The CRP page of your exam on ibps.inAn information handout with sample question types
SBI (PO, Junior Associate)The current-openings page at sbi.bank.in/web/careersInformation handouts and pre-examination training material for eligible categories
RBI (Grade B, Assistant)RBI's Opportunities website, opportunities.rbi.org.inAn information handout, such as the one RBI issued for the Assistant mains on 27 May 2026

SBI PO is run on IBPS infrastructure, and its advertisement points candidates to the helpdesk at cgrs.ibps.in, so a login problem during an SBI PO phase may be solved there. That does not mean SBI calls come from ibps.in: always go to the recruiter named in your application.

Download your call letter from the official page only. IBPS notifications state that disclosing or reproducing test content in any form is unfair means, and fake pages that promise "call letter links" or "leaked questions" are a common trap. If a message asks for payment or your bank details to release a call letter, it is not from IBPS, SBI or RBI.

Call letters across the 2026 cycle

The dates below are the schedules published by the recruiters. IBPS calls its calendar tentative, SBI uses months for its phases, and any of them can change, so use your call letter as the final word.

The cycle pages explain each exam in detail: IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB, SBI PO, SBI Clerk and RBI Grade B.

How to download a call letter

  1. Open the official page for your exam. For IBPS this is the CRP page linked from ibps.in, and for SBI and RBI it is the careers or Opportunities page.
  2. Find the notice for your stage. It is usually titled with the exam, the phase and "call letter" or "admit card".
  3. Log in with the credentials you created at registration. The notice names exactly which details it needs.
  4. Download the PDF, print it clearly and save a copy on your phone.

If your stage depends on a result, as mains does after prelims, the call letter appears only after the result is declared and only for shortlisted candidates. How bank exam results work explains that sequence.

The information handout: read it

IBPS publishes an information handout with sample question types alongside its call letters, SBI publishes "Acquaint Yourself" handouts, and RBI issues handouts for its stages. RBI's Assistant mains handout was dated 27 May 2026, 11 days before the 7 June 2026 exam. The handout is where you find details that the notification leaves out. For RBI Grade B, for example, the per-section question counts for Phase I are in the handout and not in the advertisement. Read it the day it appears and adjust your last mocks to it.

What to check on your call letter

  • Name, photograph and signature. A mismatch with your ID can cause trouble at the gate.
  • Exam, stage and session. Confirm the date and shift. IBPS prelims and RRB exams run over several days and sessions.
  • Centre name and address. Locate it a day early, and plan the travel time.
  • Reporting time. Treat it as the time to be inside, not to leave home.
  • Documents to carry. The call letter lists what is required, and a printed call letter plus a valid photo ID is the usual core. Follow your letter's list and not a forum post.
  • Instructions. Look for items that are not allowed in the hall and any rule about carrying documents.

If anything is wrong, contact the recruiter's helpdesk before exam day, not at the centre.

Exam-day notes that apply across these exams

Sections are separately timed in almost every pattern here, and the IBPS notifications say mains sections are shown "not by sequence", so do not assume the order you practised. In the IBPS Personality Test, the self-report is non-qualifying but attending is mandatory. For SBI PO, the psychometric test is held proctored or at a centre. Some bank exams also have a language test after mains, such as the LLPT for IBPS Clerk and SBI Junior Associate, and it needs its own call letter.

Preparing for the day with PrepMatic

A call letter is a deadline in disguise. Once you have your date, set it as your exam date in PrepMatic so the study plan counts back from it using your daily hours and study days. Take full-length mocks in the same time slot as your exam, and use the results to see which section costs you the most marks. A free assessment (about 15 questions, no timer) shows the weakest subjects first. For how to use mocks, read the bank exam mock test strategy, and see the bank exams hub for the other guides.

Frequently asked questions

When will my IBPS call letter be released?

IBPS announces it on the CRP page of your exam. It does not publish call-letter dates in advance, so keep checking ibps.in around the date listed in its tentative calendar.

Is the admit card the same as the call letter?

Yes. Banks mostly say call letter, but it is the document that admits you to the exam and you need it for each stage.

Can I appear without a printed call letter?

The call letter lists what you must carry. Follow it exactly. If it asks for a printed copy and a photo ID, bring both.

Do I need a separate call letter for the interview?

Yes. Each stage, including the Personality Test and interview where they exist, has its own call letter.

Where do RBI call letters appear?

On RBI's Opportunities website, opportunities.rbi.org.in. RBI's handouts for its stages are published on its official sites as well.
