The RBI Grade B interview carries 75 marks, according to the Panel Year 2026 advertisement. Your final merit is built from the Phase II marks (300) and the interview marks, and the Phase I score is not counted.

The selection path

  1. Phase I: an online objective paper of 200 marks in 120 minutes (General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning). It has sectional minimums and an aggregate cut-off and is only a qualifier.
  2. Phase II: online, 300 marks, in three papers: Economic & Social Issues, English (Writing Skills) and Finance & Management.
  3. Personality Assessment: carries no marks.
  4. Interview: 75 marks, which can be taken in Hindi or English.

Phase II is where most of the marks are, so a strong interview helps but cannot rescue a weak written score. Phase II also has descriptive answers typed on a keyboard, so practise typing.

Preparing for it

Revise the economic, social, finance and management topics from Phase II, and be ready to talk about your own background and studies: both are fair ground for a panel. The RBI Grade B guide covers the whole process, and the bank PO interview preparation guide covers common themes. For what the job pays, see RBI Grade B salary.
