Bank exam age limit calculator

The age range is 20 to 30 for IBPS PO (counted on 1 July 2026), 21 to 30 for SBI PO (counted on 1 April 2026) and 20 to 28 for IBPS Clerk, now called Customer Service Associate or CSA (counted on 1 August 2026). SC/ST, OBC and other relaxations raise the upper limit. Choose your exam and category, enter your date of birth and tick any relaxation that applies.
Age limits and relaxations by exam
The three notifications count age on different dates.

You must not have completed the maximum age on the reckoning date. For a limit of 30 counted on 1 July 2026, the oldest eligible birth date is 2 July 1996.
How relaxations combine
- IBPS PO. The SC/ST or OBC relaxation adds to either the PwBD or the ex-servicemen relaxation, but those two are not added to each other. An SC candidate with a disability can go up to 30 + 5 + 10 = 45.
- SBI PO. The advertisement says cumulative relaxation is not available, so only the largest single relaxation applies.
- IBPS CSA. The figures we have do not say whether category and PwBD relaxations add up, and the ex-servicemen relaxation depends on length of service. The tool then shows a range and says "check the notification".
SBI PO also has a minimum age of 21. For degrees, IBPS requires you to be a graduate on the day you register, while SBI PO lets final-year students apply provisionally with proof of passing by 30 September 2026. The bank exam eligibility guide covers attempts and the rest.
Worked examples
Example 1: IBPS PO. A candidate born on 10 January 1994 is 32 years, 5 months and 21 days old on 1 July 2026. As OBC non-creamy layer the limit is 33 and he is eligible. As a General candidate the limit is 30, so the same date of birth is over it.
Example 2: IBPS CSA. A General candidate born on 5 September 1997 is 28 years, 10 months and 27 days old on 1 August 2026. The limit is 28, so he is over it. As SC/ST the limit is 33, so he is eligible.
Example 3: the "check" range. An OBC non-creamy layer candidate with a disability, born on 1 January 1986, is 40 years and 7 months old on 1 August 2026. For CSA the limit that surely applies is 38 (28 + 10 for PwBD). If category and PwBD relaxations add up it is 41, so the tool says to check the notification.
